Salt

The topic of salt I choose, after I read a book about custom hedges in India (Roy Moxham). I remember during the meal at home or at hotels or in marriage, the first item they keep in your banana leaf plate is the salt. I never gave a thought about it, until I read the book "The Great Hedge of India" by Roy Moxham. This book clear three things to us

1. How biased the Indian History we learn in schools are

2. How cruelly the taxes (particularly the salt tax) imposed on a poor Indian peasant

3. The importance of salt to an Indian and how salt took place in their tradition
